Well the decision to run the first knitting circle last Saturday may have been a little bit last minute, but it didn’t stop a healthy turnout of friends, families and most importantly complete strangers who’d just heard on the grapevine that we were knitting away in Kings Cross. The sun was shining, picnic blankets spread around and more wool floating around than you knew what to choose from.

Art & About 2009
I Heart Kings Cross
Knitters and crocheters, young and old, experienced or just starting out are invited to participate in a major public art project to be presented this October, as part of Art & About. Sydney based artist collective, Reef Knot, will work with the community and local artists to create ‘I Heart Kings Cross’, a collaborative knitting installation along the main strip of King Cross.
The public are invited to knitting circles to be held every Saturday, commencing THIS SATURDAY 15th August and running until 26th September, 10am-4pm in Fitzroy Gardens. All materials will be supplied, however remnant wool is gladly accepted. Experience is not necessary. In case of wet weather, knitting circles will be held at The Rex Centre, 58a Macleay Street.
